PROJECT BRIEF  | 

MinterEllisonRuddWatts selected the new BNZ building as its future premises in Wellington.

Situated at One Whitmore Street, in the heart of Wellington's waterfront, the 15-storey BNZ building spans an entire city block. It is one of New Zealand’s most seismically advanced developments and is designed to achieve a 5-Star Green Star rating for sustainability—both key factors in the firm’s decision to relocate.

MinterEllisonRuddWatts Chief Executive, Andrew Poole, highlighted the building’s central location and stunning waterfront views, stating, "The new BNZ building combines contemporary and practical design, aligning perfectly with our firm’s approach to legal advice. Its proximity to public transport and city amenities makes it an ideal location."

Poole added, "A core element of the design is sustainability, creating a welcoming space for both our clients and staff to collaborate. Our new office will be a dynamic environment that supports our culture and enhances the services we deliver."

The firm enlisted Custance Architects who collaborated with Athfield Architects to design the new Wellington office. Unison worked closely with Custance Associates assisting with the selection of the furniture solutions for the project.
