A classic silhouette with contemporary ergonomics
The Zeph Chair finds a happy home between mid-century modern aesthetics and the research-backed ergonomics of today’s work chairs. Its
advanced yet simple design offers more for less – more comfort, colours and style – made with fewer components and at a price that makes it
the perfect entrée into the world of Herman Miller performance seating
The Berlin-based Studio 7.5 is helmed by co-founders Burkhard Schmitz and Carola Zwick and her brother, Roland Zwick. Their past designs for Herman Miller include Cosm, Mirra 2 and Setu.
Zeph creates a natural motion that works for all body types.
The shell has a certain built-in flexibility so that it is “hugging” the user, thus creating an individual back contour. The chair’s kinematics follow the motion of the sitter, allowing to stretch and change posture seamlessly from time to time, which is an essential factor for comfort
This simplified multipurpose chair provides natural balanced recline up to 12.8° and proper recline resistance without user adjustment.
The chair has 360 degrees of swivel and the only adjustment is the pneumatic height adjustment available in high-height range. Arm choices include no arms or fixed arms. Fixed arms are molded into the shell.
The contoured kinematic monoshell is molded 10% glass-filled polypropylene. Seat/back options include polymer shell only or polymer shell with 3D knit seat pad. The seat pad has a padded 3D mesh spacer to provide additional comfort. 3D Knit fabric is made with 50% post-consumer recycled polyester.
